It's a digital complaint box of sorts.

Although it may not resolve the issue immediately, anyone experiencing a problem with the 2024-25 FAFSA can now report it using a website hotline. The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions has set up the website to report any challenges experienced with the new form.

In referring to the website, referred to as the “FAFSA Issue Reporting Hotline,” U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), ranking member of the committee, said the website hotline is for students, guidance counselors, college admissions faculty, financial aid administrators, and others to report issues they’ve had with the process.

In the announcement, Cassidy mentioned what he called “severe impacts of the botched FAFSA rollout, including counselors being forced to postpone crucial financial aid information to assist students and families through the FAFSA process.”

According to a disclaimer on the hotline website, any information submitted through the form will be used to inform policymaking and congressional oversight only. Anyone reporting a problem with the FAFSA is reminded not to include any personal information, such as banking information, tax returns, or social security numbers.
