Financial aid professionals may not have a lot of time to spare for training right now, but sometimes it's absolutely necessary.

Fortunately, the Department of Education offers some training that won’t require leaving the office. The Federal Student Aid (FSA) Training Center offers training videos in the Recorded Training section of the site. The videos cover topics in eight different categories:

  • Federal Updates
  • Student Eligibility
  • Grants, Loans, and Work Study
  • Funds Management
  • Student Withdrawals
  • School Eligibility
  • FSA Resources
  • FAFSA Simplification

Some of the videos are recordings of live webinars presented by FSA training officers.

In addition, the Department said there are "explainer" videos on topics like Loan Proration, Separation of Functions, and Title IV Credit Balances. There are also webinars and tutorial videos focused on FAFSA Simplification topics.

To access the training, financial aid professionals can log into the FSA Training Center at fsatraining.ed.gov, select “Recorded Training” from the black main menu bar, and choose "Webinars and Training Videos."

Anyone with questions about the training can send an email to helpdesk.fsatraining@ed.gov.
